An overview of our local community projects

At Go Wombat, we give part of our time and income to community, environmental and volunteer projects. This page describes them.

We also aim to have a positive economic impact, support the defence of Ukraine and reduce our environmental footprint.

We encourage every Wombat to grow as a professional and as a person and to contribute to the community.

Our economic impact

Go Wombat started as a group of good friends in a small room looking for clients.

Today we are 100+ people: developers, project managers, cybersecurity engineers and other specialists.

Protecting our freedom

We bring victory closer through joint efforts against invaders.

Part of our company's income is regularly transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, plus we've made various donations to help our brothers in arms on the frontline. Our plan is to continue supporting our troops until we've successfully defended our sovereignty.

Reducing our carbon footprint

We have started with a few practical steps.

We work paperless, use a hybrid work setup and run a programme that gives our old equipment a second life. We plan to add more environmental initiatives.

A closer look at some of our community projects

The projects below include our bug hotels, support for the Dnipro Aquarium and Botanical Garden, and donations to the Ukrainian army.

Bug hotels

We have built two "bug hotels" ourselves: one in Dnipro's Botanical Garden and one in a cultural park in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Bug hotels are miniature habitats built to attract and shelter native insects, which benefit the local environment.

Our bug hotels help the environment by:

Offering a miniature habitat for native insects
Housing organisms that contribute to healthy soil
Supporting pollinators in nearby areas
Recycling nutrients as well as organic materials

The Dnipro Aquarium

The Aquarium of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, opened in 1985, is a freshwater aquarium with a 100,000-litre tunnel tank and fish from every continent. Here you can find unique species of freshwater fish. However, the lack of proper funding makes the full functioning of the aquarium impossible.

We support the Aquarium with equipment and supplies, because we consider it important for Ukrainian science.

We've contributed to the aquarium by:

Providing supplies
Furnishing necessary equipment
Completing media information projects

The Dnipro Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden's plant collection is a precious national treasure, and its plant varieties exceed 3,500. It is also a green space for the city's residents, and it needs more funding and support.

We have supported the Botanical Garden for several years, and our team regularly brings equipment and supplies.

Stand with Ukraine

Go Wombat has taken part in volunteer programmes for the military since the company was founded and made this a focus after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022. Partners and clients from other countries have also contributed.

We fund equipment and supplies for the troops defending Ukraine.

Go Wombat has contributed so far by donating:

Medical equipment and supplies
Drones, night-vision devices, and other equipment
Trucks, pickups, and support vehicles
Help for children in Russia-occupied areas
Surveillance and defence drones
